Choosing the Type of Funeral

Religous, Humanist (Non-Religious) Independent Funeral Celebrant choices.
The funeral you choose is important not only for the present, but for the future.

Religious Service

We will offer information on the appropriate local church or minister available in the area. If you are a church member, please advise us accordingly, if not, we will discuss the options available to you.

The church in our local communities play a vital role in the support network. We have many denominations within our area which provide a great support network to the bereaved after the funeral has taken place. This offer of help cannot be underestimated and often is of immense benefit where immediate family members are often a good distance away.

You will find full details on our website concerning various funeral options available to you, when the time comes to discuss arrangements please don't hesitate to contact us.

Humanist Celebrant

The role of the Humanist Celebrant is totally non-religious and no religious readings or music will be allowed.

The Humanist Celebrant will visit the family to ascertain your needs and provide a service fitting for the occasion. The service will be professionally structured with readings, poems and music to the families choice. The Scottish Borders has qualified Humanist Celebrants on hand to deliver your service.

Independent Civil Celebrant

We are fortunate also to have experienced, qualified Civil Celebrants at hand.

Again, the celebrant will visit the family to ascertain the essential information for the funeral service and will advise on the structure, music, poems and readings appropriate for the service.

Family Member

Sometimes the family wish to conduct or lead the service themselves.

In some instances it is appropriate if they have the skill base to carry out this function, but in most, it is advisable to gain professional help from the choices above.
